U.S. Open Local Qualifying

The Road to Pebble Beach for the 2019 U.S. Open Championship has begun after the USGA accepted 8,602 entries, comprised of professional and amateur golfers. With 500 available sectional qualifying spots across 112 local qualifying sites, Arizona conducts four local qualifiers with 19 spots up for grabs.

Sewailo Golf Course May 3rd:

The first to punch his ticket to golf’s ultimate test in Arizona was Stephan Allan. A six-under 65 earned the Australian Native medalist honors. University of Arizona junior, Briggs Duce, earned his spot after closing with a back-nine 32 and finishing his round at five-under (66).  Also posting a 66, Drew Kittleson was the second amateur advance to sectional qualifying. DC Ranch Country Club May 6:

Each carding a three-under 67, Billy Comeaux, Leon D’Souza, Bradley Harrelson and Daniel Sun topped the leaderboard to share medalist honors, securing their tickets to US Open Sectional Qualifying. Darren Fletcher registered two birdies on his last three holes to force a playoff and take the last qualifying spot. Full Results
