TOURNAMENTS
The AGA offers a variety of competitive tournament opportunities for men and women of all abilities.
Whether you want to participate in State Championships, Senior Series events, Member Tournaments or Team events, you are guaranteed to enjoy your playing experience.
Men’s Championships
The AGA conducts seven State Championships for men – some are open to all and others are restricted by age. They range from Match Play and Stroke Play to Better Ball events. All are played at scratch and offer golfers a competitive environment to play in while at some of Arizona’s most prestigious golf venues. See EventsUSGA Qualifiers
The AGA conducts 18 qualifiers each year on behalf of the United States Golf Association. These include qualifiers for both open and amateur championships for men, women and juniors. The AGA conducts four State Championships for women. These are the highest echelon of state level amateur competition for women in Arizona and includes the State Amateur Match Play, the State Amateur Stroke Play, the Four-Ball Stroke Play and the State Amateur Senior Stroke Play. The AGA conducts association tournaments throughout the state for men and women. Players are flighted by age and/or handicap and multiple sets of tees are utilized to enhance the player’s experience and enjoyment. Several tournaments provide both gross and net prizes. The AGA supports several Team Competitions and selects players for certain Invitational events. Including the Heather Farr Matches, Arizona/Utah Shootout, the Bob Goldwater Cup, the Southwest Team Challenge, Father/Son tournament, Club Team Championship, Senior Cup Series and Women’s Club State Medallion among others. There are several competitive tournaments held throughout the state that are classified as sanctioned, the AGA has no role in sanctioned events other than to allocate points for representation on AGA teams. There are more than 1,000 charity golf tournaments hosted throughout the year in Arizona. The AGA posts details to help organizers promote their charities and golf tournaments. AGA social days are non-competitive events open to members & non-members. No matter your skill level, come out & experience what the game has to offer. Just for Fun: No format, just golf. Keep score or don’t keep score. Just come out and enjoy an afternoon of golf with friends. Summer Scrambles: For those that want the camaraderie and comfort of a team. Don’t have anyone to play with?
