2017 AZ Senior Stroke Play Championship

TPC Scottsdale - Champions course will serve as host for the 2017 Senior Stroke Play.  Rivaling its famous sister course in both beauty and playability, the Randy Heckenkemper-designed Champions Course offers an ideal desert golf experience. Built on the former site of TPC Scottsdale’s Desert Course, the layout was completely revamped in 2007.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to Divisional Players ONLY: Masters: age 45-54; Senior: age 55-64; Legends: 65+

Participants must hold an active membership with an AGA Member Club. In agreement with the AGA Tournament Regulations

Special Offer: Valid May 15 – 21 / Champions Course only / $58+tax per player

FORMAT: 36-holes of individual stroke play at gross handicap within age divisions.                                                                    

TOURNAMENT TEE TIMES: Pairings will be in groups of four, at 10-minute intervals between groups and tee times will be as follows:

Monday, May 22

6:30 – 8:40 a.m.          First Round off Nos. 1 & 10 tees

Tuesday, May 23

6:30 – 8:40 a.m.          Final Round off Nos. 1 & 10 tees        

1:30 p.m.                    Awards Ceremony

In the event of a tie, a hole-by-hole playoff will begin immediately following the conclusion of play to determine the champion.

TPA TEE TIMES: 7:30 – 8:40 a.m. off No. 1 tee.

PAIRINGS: Official tournament pairings will be available by end of day on Wednesday, May 17. Pairings will be posted on the tournament website and players will receive an email once pairings are available.

DRIVING RANGE: Practice balls will be available on the range starting at 5:30 a.m. on Monday & Tuesday. The driving range will not be available to players following their tournament round.

FOOD & BEVERAGE: The Champions Grill will have their walk-up window open from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. serving a variety of food & beverage options.

PAYOUTS: Exact breakdown of payouts is calculated based on the number of participants and will be posted at the Host Site prior to final-round scoring.

GOLF CART USE: Cart fees for both days of the Championship are covered in the tournament entry fee.  

In addition, the following policies will be enforced:

  1. Spectator carts are not permitted for insurance reasons, NO EXCEPTIONS.
  2. Carts are assigned only to contestants. A caddie may use a cart only if a contestant is not displaced by such use.
  3. Restrictions on cart use for players are at the discretion of the Host Site, and all players are bound by those requirements, subject to withdrawal for violations of that policy. Any such restrictions will be posted at the tournament site.
  4. Two persons per cart only.
  5. Carts must be kept on paths if available near greens and tees.
  6. Any non-player riding with a player is considered a caddie and subject to any potential rules violations.
  7. Pull carts are permitted as long as not in conflict with the Host Club rules.

WITHDRAW POLICY: Prior to the Entry Deadline, players may withdraw from a tournament and receive a full refund by completing the withdraw process on the tournament website, calling the AGA office (602) 944-3035 during normal business hours or calling the Withdraw Line at (602) 944-3035 ext. 210 and leaving a message.

After the Entry Deadline has passed, any withdraw will be considered a “late withdraw”. Tournament entry fees will only be returned if the player’s position in the field is filled by an alternate. In any case, a $30 administrative fee will be deducted from any tournament entry fee refund, regardless of the reason for withdrawing.
