2017 Arizona Mid-Am Championship

The Arizona Mid-Amateur Championship is an annual golf tournament in Arizona for post-college amateur golfers ages 25 and over. The majestic San Tan Mountains provide a serene backdrop for the 18-hole golf course designed by Gary Panks.  In 2016 Bryan Hoops won by four strokes.


 

2017 Arizona Mid-Am Championship  

HOST SITE: Seville Golf & Country Club: 6683 S Clubhouse Dr., Gilbert, AZ 85298

DATES: June 9-11, 2017 (Friday – Sunday)

GOLF CART USE: Players may walk but are permitted to ride in carts and cart fees are covered in the tournament entry fee. Carts will be staged near the practice facilities each morning of the competition. Maximum of two carts per group and maximum of two riders per cart. Click here for AGA's complete golf cart policy.

CADDIES: Caddies are permitted for the Championship. They must walk at all times unless there is an available seat in one of the players carts. Caddies riding in a cart MUST NOT displace a player.

In addition, the following policies will be enforced:

  1. Spectator carts are not permitted for insurance reasons, NO EXCEPTIONS.
  2. Pull carts are permitted as long as not in conflict with the Host Club rules.

ELIGIBILITY: Participants must be 25 years old or older, hold an active membership with an AGA Member Club, and have an index of 6.4 or less.

PRACTICE ROUNDS: Practice rounds available: Monday-Friday after12pm for $40+tax beginning immediately. No practice rounds available on Memorial Day, Monday, 5/29. Please call the Golf Shop at 480.279.3030 and identify yourself as a Mid-Am participant to schedule.

FORMAT: 54-holes of individual stroke play at gross handicap. Max field size of 144 players. If the tournament field size is greater than 72 players, the field will be cut to top 50% and ties, as well as any player within 8 strokes of the leader after 36-holes.                                                                                     

TOURNAMENT TEE TIMES: Pairings will be in groups of three, at 10-minute intervals between groups and tee times will be as follows:

Friday, June 9
7:00 a.m. – noon                                 First Round off No. 1 tee

Saturday, June 10
7:00 a.m. – noon                                 Second Round off No. 1 tee

*If field size is greater than 72 players, field is cut to top-50% + ties + players within 8 strokes of leader

Sunday, June 11                                
7:00 – 10:00 a.m.                                Final Round off No. 1 tee
3 p.m.                                                 Awards Ceremony

In the event of a tie, a hole-by-hole playoff will begin immediately following the conclusion of play to determine the champion.

TPA TEE TIMES: TBD

PAIRINGS: Official tournament pairings will be available by end of day on Monday, June 5. Pairings will be posted on the tournament website and players will receive an email once pairings are available.

DRIVING RANGE: Practice balls will be available on the range prior to play on: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Seville Golf & Country Club

PAYOUTS: Payouts in the form of merchandise gift cards will be given to top finishers. Specific payout amounts will be posted prior to final-round scoring.

GOLF CART USE: Players may walk or ride.

In addition, the following policies will be enforced:

  1. Spectator carts are not permitted for insurance reasons, NO EXCEPTIONS.
  2. Carts are assigned only to contestants. A caddie may use a cart only if a contestant is not displaced by such use.
  3. Restrictions on cart use for players are at the discretion of the Host Site, and all players are bound by those requirements, subject to withdrawal for violations of that policy. Any such restrictions will be posted at the tournament site.
  4. Two persons per cart only.
  5. Carts must be kept on paths if available near greens and tees.
  6. Any non-player riding with a player is considered a caddie and subject to any potential rules violations.
  7. Pull carts are permitted as long as not in conflict with the Host Club rules.

WITHDRAW POLICY: Prior to the Entry Deadline, players may withdraw from a tournament and receive a full refund by completing the withdraw process on the tournament website, calling the AGA office (602) 944-3035 during normal business hours or calling the Withdraw Line at (602) 944-3035 ext. 210 and leaving a message.

After the Entry Deadline has passed, any withdraw will be considered a “late withdraw”. Tournament entry fees will only be returned if the player’s position in the field is filled by an alternate. In any case, a $30 administrative fee will be deducted from any tournament entry fee refund, regardless of the reason for withdrawing.
