94th Arizona Amateur Championship

RIO VERDE, AZ-Arizona Amateur golf is in full swing this week at Tonto Verde Golf Club, where 144 of Arizona’s most prestigious amateur golfers will complete for the 94th Arizona Amateur Championship title.
Play will begin Monday with a two day 36-hole stroke-play qualifying round, played on Tonto Verde’s Peaks Course and Ranch Course. Each player will play one round on each course. The low 64 player will be advancing to the Match-Play Championship.
Beginning Wednesday, the remaining 64 players will move onto match-play qualifying, where the field will be cut to 32. Match play is where two players will compete head-to-head and the winner will determined by the amount of winning holes, rather than counting strokes.
On Thursday, 32 players will compete with the low 16 players advancing to a second  match-play, where eight players will continue forward.
The next day, there will be two more rounds of match-play, where the field will be halved after each round. Two players will advance to the final round of match-play to compete for the Kachina Doll Trophy and 94th Arizona Amateur Champion title.
