Club News – OT Ruling

A federal district court judge in Texas ruled that the Department of Labor’s (DOL) new Overtime Rule should be stopped.  The ruling means that the rule WILL NOT go into effect on December 1, 2016 and that all clubs may keep their employees at their current salary and schedule without the concern of additional payroll expense. This ruling will be in effect until a final decision on the merits of this lawsuit is reached.  Whie DOL may wish to appeal this injunction, the fact remains it will be extremely difficult for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit to hear that appeal within the next 18 days.  To read the full article, click here.
