Results of the 56th Goldwater Cup

The event is named for the late Bob Goldwater Sr., a former state amateur champion and Arizona Golf Hall of Famer who is known as father of the WM Phoenix Open.
The annual matches promote friendly competition and camaraderie but also a high-level of competition between top amateur golfers representing the AGA and club professionals from the Southwest Section of the PGA.
Eligibility: The Open and Senior Teams are comprised of twelve members selected according to their standing on their respective Players Cup Points Lists as of August 28th (Conclusion of the Amateur). All expenses are included with the invitation. In advance of the deadline for qualification, top players in the Points lists will be solicited for interest in competing on the Teams. The following selection criteria will be used: Automatic Selection Open Team – The top ten TPA members based on Open Points. Senior Team (50 and Older) – The top four TPA member Masters and Senior Division players and the #1 TPA Legends Division player. If any player in this category cannot play or declines the invitation to play, that position will be returned to the Tournament Committee for selection based on the Players Points list and performance in multiple events. Committee and Captains Selections: Each captain shall have one selection to the team from AGA members without restriction. The Tournament Committee will complete the teams at its discretion.
