New Director of Instruction for the PGA Learning Center

The PGA Tour and the PGA of America decided to come together in a joint effort to create the PGA Learning Centers. The PGA Leanring Center at the Legends of Arrowhead Golf Course welcomes their new Director of Instruction, Wesley Gleason. The following is a letter Gleason:
“Just a little bit about me…I was born on a brisk Spring morning in New England just as a slight hush grew over the crowd in the waiting room…skip forward a couple decades…and here I am! That was, what I call, the “non-drowsy” version. If you are having difficulty sleeping or if you really want to know a little more about me please read on. First, I have been playing golf all but the first two years of my life. This means I played my first round in diapers and I hope to play my last round in diapers as well! As you probably have already assumed I root for all Boston teams and since I graduated from the University of Notre Dame I root for the Irish as well…please don’t hold any of that against me! I’ve worked at some of the most prestigious golf courses in the world, a list that includes Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, The Phoenician, and Sedona Golf Resort. Golf has given me so much in my life and I just hope to return the favor. I love this game not just for the passion it instills in me but also for the life-lessons I have learned along the way. I learned more about sportsmanship, competition and patience in 18 holes of golf than I did in all of high school. Who can relate?!? I mean it’s tough losing to your buddy as you three putt from six feet to lose the match…and it’s even tougher to shake his hand right after with a smile on your face instead of screaming at the top of your lungs. As you can imagine I have many stories from this wonderful game that I hope to share with you on our journey to better golf.
Couple of upcoming events/programs that you may want to know about:

I am offering a free 30 minute clinic once a week, on various days of the week throughout the month, where we will focus on one part of the game per session. The first one starts this Saturday at noon…where we will be working on the Short Game and how to fix the Yips! This clinic is free and only open to all of you that have purchased the range pass here at The Legend of Arrowhead Golf Course. Luckily it will only be 115 that day…maybe I should call it a survival clinic! 
I offer lessons to complete beginners, in our Get Golf Ready Plus Program, which is 6 hours of instruction, over four different days, for $249. These 6 hours encompasses everything from where to go to check in before your tee time to playing on the golf course. My goal is to have you looking and acting like you know what you’re doing by the end of the program! Sign-ups are on the PGA Learning Center logo in my signature below… 
For all of you with kids, PGA Junior League Camps are set up over the next two months here at your course…I want to warn all adults there will be lots of kids having way too much fun out here! There are two types of camps Full Day and Half Day…the Half Day classes seem to be the option of choice probably since it can be pretty warm here in Phoenix in the afternoons.
