President and Founder of Golf for Cause
Debbie Waitkus, speaker, author and consultant is the president and founder of Golf for Cause. She is passionate about helping others Turn Golf into Gold®, enriching their lives both personally and professionally.
A true advocate of the sport, she is a founder and managing partner of the National Women’s Golf Alliance — evaluating and certifying golf facilities for how well they “Roll Out the Green Carpet™” for women, past-president of Women in the Golf Industry and sits on National Golf Course Owners Association Arizona Advisory Board. Debbie donates a portion of the proceeds of her popular book Get Your Golf On! – Your Guide to Getting in the Game to the Marilynn Smith Scholarship Fund, advancing the opportunity for girls to play golf in college.
A thought leader who speaks regularly at golf industry functions, Debbie appears in numerous media and is a Top 100 Panelist with Golfweek. She is the recipient of the YWCA Sports Leader Award and the Eller School of Management Entrepreneurship Award. She is also a featured author in Teeing Up for Success, published by the EWGA Foundation in 2014.
Golf for Cause teaches organizations how to leverage the business power of golf through events, business-golf education, motivational speaking and consultation. Clients include Better Business Bureau, Microsoft, National Bank of Arizona, Navigate Research, RW Baird, Wells Fargo, Vanguard, among others.
Prior to founding Golf for Cause, LLC, Debbie was president of a 37-year-old, $130 million private mortgage banking firm, where she attributed golf as one of her keys to success. Mother of two, she sits on a number of community and professional boards and, with her husband, Jack, owns Video West, Inc., a 30+ year-old audio, video, lighting rental and staging company.
