TOCA Celebrates Its 65th Anniversary
This milestone marks more than six decades of innovative, state-of-the-art care at the Phoenix-based company.
The Orthopedic Clinic Association, commonly known as TOCA, is celebrating 65 years of comprehensive and innovative care.
TOCA, AGA’s partner and advertiser, provides team physicians for ASU, Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Mercury. It was Arizona’s first medical practice dedicated to orthopedic surgery, and it remains a leader in orthopedic care, physical therapy and hand therapy.
“It’s been such an honor to serve Arizona for these decades,” a spokesperson said. “We’re using this milestone as a way to mark both what’s been accomplished and what’s yet to come.”
Founded in 1949, TOCA was Arizona’s first medical practice dedicated to orthopedic surgery, and it remains a leader in orthopedic care, physical therapy and hand therapy. Though Dr. William Bishop and Dr. Alvin Swenson started the practice just after World War II, its goals have evolved to encompass a truly modern point of view that never strays from the doctors’ original mission: to provide the best, most innovative musculoskeletal solutions in the Valley of the Sun.
Today, TOCA has grown to include nearly 20 physicians across five Valley locations in Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale, Glendale and Mesa. Patients routinely turn to the practice’s surgeons and subspecialists for their unparalleled expertise. In fact, the Phoenix Suns, Phoenix Mercury and Arizona State University all employ TOCA as their team physicians and surgeons.
“We’re proud to continue on with Dr. Bishop’s and Dr. Swenson’s vision,” the same spokesperson said. “We guarantee that the next 65 years will be just as revolutionary as the first.” To learn more about TOCA and its specialties, visit www.tocamd.com.
