2013 US Mid-Amateur Championship

Matt Rosen of Tucson and Ken Tanigawa of Phoenix both advanced to match play at the US Mid-Amateur Championship. Matt became the 61st seed following a playoff of 12 players for 8 spots.
Matt faced 2005 Mid-Amateur Champion Kevin Marsh in his first round. It took Marsh all 18 holes to garner a 1up victory over Matt.
Ken Tanigawa (44th seed) had a 4 & 3 win over 21st seed Benjamin Day to advance to the second round.
Tanigawa continued his good play this morning defeating Scott Harvey of Greensboro, NC 1 up. Tuesday afternoon, he will face Keith Humerickhouse of Eagle, CO in the round of 16.
Tanigawa defeats Keith Humerickhouse 4 & 3 in the round of 16 to advance.  He now faces the 2005 Mid-Amateur Champion Kevin Marsh Wednesday morning.
Kevin’s good showing came to an end on Wednesday when he was defeated by Kevin Marsh of Nevada 2&1.

Other players representing Arizona that did not make the cut include Eric Sage, Jeremy DeFalco, Trey Martin and Bryan Hoops.
