2013 Citizens Cup

This year the 2013 Citizens Cup was a two-day event hosted by The Gallery Golf Club. The field was comprised of eight teams consisting of eight players representing AGA clubs in Southern Arizona. Represented were Pueblo del Sol, Tucson Golf Club, Los Hermanos, Fred Enke, Saddlebrooke, Spruce Goose, 9/80 Club and Greater Huachuca.
Congratulations go to Fred Enke Golf Club who walked away with the honors and will hold the Citizens Cup trophy for one year!
Each team consisted of four flights with two players per flight.
The following was the Handicap Index Range.
Flight #1: 7.9 index or lower Flight #2: 8.0-11.9 Flight #3: 12.0 – 15.9 Flight #4: greater than 16.0 (The maximum difference in Handicap Index in the 16.0 and over category is 8 strokes.)
If clubs could not fill a flight with players in that range, individuals were allowed to play down one flight. In addition, players could be substituted between rounds; however, the replacement had to be in the same handicap range as the original player. The format was Four-ball stroke play (better ball of partners) within each flight. All flights played at net using 90% of Course Handicap. The lowest cumulative team score over the two days determined the champions.
