Martin edges out Kemp in 2013 Tempe Amateur

After the first day of play was cancelled due to rain, the 2013 Tempe Amateur resumed Sunday at Ken McDonald Golf Course. The decision was made to shorten this year’s event to 18 holes, leaving players with just one day to prove their ability to stand out in the pack.
In the end, Trey Martin edged out Carson Kemp with a 5-under 67, winning by two strokes. Martin’s strong start of a 31 on the front nine proved to be too much to overcome down the stretch for Kemp.
The AGA’s next event is the 2013 Short Course at Bear Creek (Cub Course).
