Grow the Game of Golf Media Scholarship
The Arizona Golf Foundation is pleased to announce the availability of a scholarship for high school students who reside in our state. The Grow the Game of Golf Media Scholarship is designed to assist students pursuing a career in journalism with an emphasis on sports reporting, and in particular, golf. SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
$2,500 to the winning entry along with an official award certificate
$1,500 to the 2nd place entry along with an official award certificate
SCHOLARSHIP ENTRY DETAILS
Entry is open to all Arizona high school seniors statewide, including those attending public, private and/or parochial schools. Home-schooled 12th grade equivalent high school students are also welcome to submit.
Each entrant must prepare an essay on the subject “How to Grow the Game of Golf.” Essay must be typed, double-spaced and be no less than 1,000 words and no more than 2,000 words.
Entries must be submitted via email to: [email protected] by 5pm (Arizona time) on October 10, 2011.
All entries must be accompanied by an official entry form.
Essays must include the student name, phone and email addresses on each page. All pages must be numbered.
Essay entries are limited to one per student.
AWARDS PRESENTATION Winners of the Grow the Game of Golf Media Scholarship will be notified by November 1, 2011. Presentation of the scholarship awards will take place at the Arizona Golf Foundation Hall of Fame awards dinner on November 21 at Gainey Ranch Golf Club. SCHOLARSHIP RULES
All entries become of the property of the Arizona Golf Foundation and may be used for promotional purposes by the AGF and its partners.
Any entry not following the entry detail guidelines above or submitted past the deadline will not be considered.
Scholarship winners will be featured throughout the year on the Arizona Golf Association website.
Winning entries will be submitted to various golf media outlets for publication consideration.
