Free junior golf clinic for girls

Several Phoenix organizations, including the LPGA Girls Golf Club and The First Tee, teamed up to offer free junior golf clinics for all girls ages 5 to 17 living in the Valley. Participants don’t need to have previous golf experience to attend and will be able to borrow clubs at the event. The final free clinic for 2010 is Thursday, Oct. 14 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the TPC Scottsdale Champions Course, 17020 N. Hayden Rd. in Scottsdale. The clinic will be divided into two levels, one for beginner/intermediate players (level one) and the second for advanced/high school players (level two). Level one will include introductory golf stations, golf games and drills, and exposure to curriculum taught by The First Tee of Phoenix. Level two will include more in-depth instruction taught by LPGA/PGA professionals. Call 602-305-7655 to learn more and register. Deadline to register is Wednesday, Oct. 13.
