The JGAA governs and promotes junior golf in the State of Arizona. It introduces non-golfing juniors to the game, establishes golf programs at schools, assists golf courses with their Junior programs, conducts major junior golf tournaments in the state. Open to all boys and girls who are at least 8 years old and have not reached their 19th birthday or entered college. |

A developmental junior golf program designed for boys ages 6-18 with emphasis on the on developing the playing capabilities and competitive tournament interest of boys who have had limited golf experience. Events are not designed to teach the basic fundamentals of the game. Members are expected to be “course ready” with the eventual goal of preparing them for more competitive golf tournaments. |

The City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department offers free golf lessons year-round to Phoenix area youth, ages eight to 17 at the six Phoenix Municipal Golf Courses. Each course will offer three sets of six-week sessions with classes ranging from beginner to advanced. The first session starts the first week of June. |

The Tucson Conquistadores Junior Golf Program subsidized golf year-round. Junior golfers can play at specified time for $1. The card remains valid until your 18th birthday. To get a Junior Card, a junior must attend a registration session. |

The Southwest Section PGA is one of forty-one sections of the Professional
Golfers Association of America and provides the following programs for
junior golfers: The Antigua Junior Tour will kick off again in June with
60 events across the state concluding with the State Championship in
August. The PING Junior Players Series has expanded to four events for
2006, providing the top junior golfers from around the Southwest a chance
to compete in nationally ranked 36-hole championship events. For kids 12 &
under, the U.S. Kids Golf Local Tour will give our younger players a
chance to compete in their own series. The Youth Golf Club, a skill
development program, is designed to be fun and enjoyable as juniors
progress through a multi-level program, learning golf skills, rules,
etiquette and playing strategies. |
