About McCormick RanchMcCormick Ranch Golf Club features two Desmond Muirhead-designed, 18-hole traditional golf courses, the Palm and the Pine. Opened in 1972, both of these courses, which are among the most popular resort layouts in the Valley, are more than 7,000 yards long. The Palm has 10 water holes and, as its name suggests, numerous, large palm trees throughout the course. The Pine is characterized by narrow fairways, which issue a sportful challenge, and features a multitude of mature pine trees. For average golfers, the men's and women's tees provide a particularly enjoyable golfing experience. In contrast, the championship tees offer low handicappers an extremely competitive test. The ninth hole on the Palm, the course's signature hole because of its unique, island fairway, was included in Golf Illustrated's list of "America's top 18 water holes."
