Arizona Golf Hall of Fame Announces 2009 Inductees

The AGA, AWGA, Cactus & Pine Arizona GCSAA, JGAA and Southwest Section PGA are pleased to announce the 2009 inductees into the Arizona Golf Hall of Fame:

  • Kenneth Kellaney (Amateur)
  • Rick LaRose (U of A Golf Coach)
  • Gary Panks (Golf Course Architect)

    To commemorate this occassion, the five associations will hold a Pro-Am on Monday, November 23 at Gainey Ranch Golf Club in Scottsdale at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception and presentation of inductees at 5:00 p.m.

    The Pro-Am will be a modified scramble with three amateurs and one professional on each team.



  • Support The Troops with Birdies for the Brave Tournament at TPC Scottsdale Dec. 11

    TPC Scottsdale is hosting a tournament on December 11th to raise money for the Birdies for the Brave charity. Birdies for the Brave is the PGA TOUR's primary vehicle for supporting the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families. Since 2005, the TOUR has joined with PGA TOUR players and corporate partners to raise millions of dollars for military homefront groups that directly serve military men and women lost or seriously injured in performance of their duty, through fund-raising events at TPC clubs nationwide.     2009 Mid-Am Series

    The AGA would like to thank Desert Forest GC, Gainey Ranch GC, Blackstone CC, Talking Rock GC, The GC at Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain, Troon CC, Superstition Mountain G&CC and all the great players that helped make this new series such a fantastic success.     8th Annual JGAA 100 Hole Golf Marathon

    The 8th Annual JGAA 100 Hole Golf Marathon will be played on December 7, 2009 at the Bear Creek Golf Complex. It is an incredibly fun event, which will raise some serious bucks for Junior Golf Association of Arizona. It is a way for golfers of all abilities to rally support while doing something they will really enjoy - playing golf. This year the AGA team will be represented by Robin Farran and Dennis Walsh.
