2009 MetLife Club Team Championship Dec. 7

The 12th Annual MetLife Club Team Championship will be held at Blackstone Country Club on Monday, Dec. 7.

Your club must be a member of the AGA to participate. Clubs may enter more than one team. Entry fees and Team Information Forms are due no later than September 18th. Clubs are asked to conduct a qualifying tournament sometime before the entry deadline.

The format for the Championship is a two-person scramble played at gross and net within flights. Team members must be from the same club.

AZHN Presents USGA Handicap System Certification and Rules of Golf Seminars

Join the AGA and the AWGA Monday, July 20 at Prescott CC for a Handicap Certification and USGA Rules of Golf Seminars. The day is broken into two sessions, both of which include lunch. Morning Session: USGA Handicap Certification, which if successfully completed is good for two years. Afternoon Session: USGA Rules of Golf Seminar. Cost is $40 for the whole day and includes lunch and publications. Or, just attend one of the sessions and enjoy lunch and the publications for just $25.

Announcing the 2009 AGA Member Days Schedule

The 2009 AGA Member Days schedule has been finalized and is now available for registration.

Through these events, AGA members are afforded an opportunity to play at private clubs in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. The 2009 schedule begins with Blackstone Country Club on April 27th and Gainey Ranch Golf Club on June 16th. Both events will include “closest to the hole” prizes and a raffle for gift certificates to the course golf shops. Shotgun starts will be followed by a buffet lunch, which is included in the $75 per person entry fee.

Interested players are urged to sign up soon as many of these events fill up quickly. Twosomes may sign-up by mail or in the tournament section of the AGA website. Single players should contact Michelle Evens at (602) 944-3035 or (800) 458-8484, ext. 207 to sign-up.

Introducing the 2009 Mid-Am Series

Desert Forest Golf Club #15
The AGA is proud to announce the all-new Mid-Am Series. These are one-day, 18-hole events for amateurs 25 and older. Each will be an afternoon shotgun, and the format will be individual Stableford, both Gross and Net. The Series will feature some of the best courses in Arizona, including Desert Forest Golf Club, Blackstone Country Club, and the all-new Ritz Carlton Course at Dove Mountain. Be one of the first to experience this exciting new series.

2009 Senior Series

If you are over 55 and are looking for a fun, quality golf experience with your peers at some great courses, then consider the AGA Senior Cup Series. Signups are now available for the Senior Cup Series - Phoenix, Senior Cup Series - Southern Arizona and Senior Cup Series - West Valley. The AGA is finalizing the rest of the 2009 schedule and more information will be available in the near future for both the overall Senior Cup Series and the Southern Arizona Series.
