Regular Club Membership
A membership for golfers who are interested in joining a club and maintaining a USGA Handicap Index. Once an individual joins a club, he automatically receives a membership in the Arizona Golf Association. Club members must follow the rules and regulations set forth by the United States Golf Association in the administration of the handicap system. Memberships are available for both 9-hole and 18-hole clubs.
Regular green grass clubs (Type 1) are groups of individuals who are affiliated with a golf course property whether it's private, semi-private, public, retirement, resort, or military. The club is located at a single specific golf course with a valid USGA Course and Slope Rating where a majority of the club's events are played and where the club's scoring records reside.
Affiliate Clubs (Type 2) are not attached to any particular golf course, but conduct tournaments on a regular basis and whose members are affiliated or known to one another via a business, fraternal, ethnic or social organization. The majority of the club members had an affiliation prior to organizing the club
Unaffiliated Clubs(Type 3) consist of members that had no prior affiliation before joining and a majority of the recruiting and sign-up of the membership is done by solicitation to the general public (e.g., Internet, newspaper).
More information about Club Memberships:
Individuals pay their AGA dues directly to the club where they belong.

Looking for an Online Club to Join?
Are you looking for an opportunity to join a club but don't know anyone in the area? Do you want to maintain a USGA Handicap Index and link up with other golfers in the state? The AGA has recently joined forces with Golfhub, an online golf community, to provide you with that opportunity. Join their Golfhub Premier Golf Club and automatically receive a membership in the AGA.
One thing to remember --- Joining a club and maintaining a USGA Handicap comes with certain strings attached in order to satisfy USGA requirements. EVERY Club Member must play and post scores from a minimum of three rounds with another member of the club. At least one of those rounds MUST BE in an organized club event.
