| WHAT'S A COURSE HANDICAP? |
| A Course Handicap mathematically converts a player's USGA Handicap Index into a specific handicap for the tees being played. It represents the number of handicap strokes a player receives from those tees and adjusts the player's scoring ability to the level of a scratch or 0-handicap golfer. A player's Course Handicap is expressed as a whole number. |
| A player's Course Handicap is related to Course Rating - not par. An individual who has a net score that is equal to the USGA Course Rating for the tees played “has played to that player's handicap.” In general, this will occur about once every four or five rounds. |
 |
| HOW DO YOU CALCULATE A COURSE HANDICAP? |
| Start with your USGA Handicap Index®, multiply that number by the Slope Rating® of the tees being played. Then divide that result by the Standard Slope Rating of 113 (round to the nearest whole number). |
Example: USGA Handicap Index = 10.4 USGA Slope Rating = 125 CH=10.4 x 125/113 = 11.5 rounded to 12 |
